Ghoulish costumes…horror movies…goblins ringing your doorbell…
It’s getting spooky out there, isn’t it?
Now that Halloween is right around the corner, we know how much you want to decorate your home with spooky spider webs and glam pumpkins. While setting that witchy scene, we advise you to be mindful where to put up your Halloween decors.
Quality Heating & Air wants to warn you about how Halloween decorations, when not set up correctly, can haunt your HVAC system and your safety.
Air Vents Decorations
Maybe you want to outdo the neighborhood with some eerie pumpkins and mummies, an evil clown, or a ghastly ghost—all for that scary air vent decorations. That’s all good, but be careful where you place them. Vents blocked by your Halloween decorations can prevent air from leaving the ductwork, which can hamper your HVAC system’s heating and cooling efficiency.
Creepy Candles
Candles are a handy accessory—whether you’re simply setting the mood or adding a decidedly spooky backdrop to your Halloween decors. But before lighting up your jack-o’-lanterns, know that candles are a huge fire hazard. If you can’t afford not to use a real flame, make sure to keep those candles away from flammable materials. If you want to play it safe, LED candles flickering in the dark can set the mood for a scary movie marathon night.
Lights & Special Effects
You surely want to set your house for the most hellish haunt using animated pneumatic props, black lights, and bubble machines! We’re okay with that, but please take extra care when plugging them in. When you overload the outlet, your Halloween party lights and other digital decorations can cause an electrical fire. We want you and your family to be safe while you’re in search of Halloween goodies.
We know you love a good scare this Halloween, but as you give your home a devilish air, it’s important to give serious thought on your HVAC and to keep safety on top of mind.
