Tips to Have Yourself an Energy-Saving Christmas

By the time December rolls around, everyone will be busy putting up their festive decor and colorful displays. However, no one wants their energy bills to get bigger on the lead up to Christmas. That’s why Quality Heating, Cooling & Plumbing is sharing our strategies on how to save energy this holiday season.

Set The Thermostat Right

There are two kinds of people in the world: those who turn the thermostat on and adjust it at their every whim, and those who set it to a single temperature and leave it alone. But what is really the best thermostat setting for the Holidays? The U.S. Department of Energy recommends 68 degrees when you’re at home, and adjusting it a bit lower when you’re asleep or on vacation.

Ditch the Regular Christmas Lights

We know you’ve at least heard about LED lights (if haven’t been using them yet.) When putting up a string of lights throughout your home, LED lights make a better option than regular Christmas lights because they are more efficient and durable. They are safer, as well. Remember that holiday lights and kids can be a dangerous combination.

Limit Your Lights

We understand that you want to have the best Christmas light displays in the neighborhood, but note that those holiday lights are a big-time use of energy. Others think that it’s tacky to leave their Christmas lights on all night, but it doesn’t make sense because almost everyone is sound asleep, and there will be no one around to enjoy them.

Have Yourself an Energy-Efficient Gift

Pass on the gift of energy-efficiency to your loved ones by investing in an Energy Star-certified furnace from Quality Heating, Cooling & Plumbing. We have a huge array of heating products that make a great comfort gift for you and your loves. Feel free to browse our product page.
